WOW!! Risky bet considering Washington has lost 7 in a row to the Heat this year and 11 in a row to them dating back to last season by an average of double digits. Just wondering if there is any reason for this play and what your thoughts are behind it? Also wondering if you have watched any Wizards/Heat games this year?

Good luck BB.

Tough to back teams down 0-3, I think Miami wants and plays to lock it up today and let Shaq have maximum rest.

"Ballsy" pick I must say, again good luck for you.

Not sure about ballsy, would be better described reckless. Especially amounts to be bet. But there are other land mines on the play also. Teams that go down 0-3 for the most part get swept. Let us look at last round. Suns up 3-0 on Memphis, game #4, blasted, not competitive. Same Heat vs. Nets, go up 3-0, blast them, covering easily. Both teams swept out of playoffs, and not close to the number. Another land mine, this Wiz squad is not that good, was lucky to get by Da Bulls, who were at less than half strength. Next land mine, losing game #3, without Shaq playing, in front of home crowd, was a real demoralizer. Another land mine, these teams do not matchup, as witnessed by current ongoing streak of losses. I lost track how many in a row. Also, in my mind one of the most dangerous land mines, Jordan is simply being outcoached. Team is undiscliplined and just gave up last game. That is inexcusable. Launch too many low % shots, no ball movement, no depth, and a very bad 2H and even worse 4Q team. You might get a break on the number when they announce Shaq to miss. But if he goes, the lines goes up to 5. My thinking is he is told to rest again. This is not a good spot, nor a gift. When the Wiz fall apart in the 2H, and start settling for j's, fall behind and start hanging their heads, like they have the other 3 games, they will again fold their tents and go fishing. Good luck with your play.

Best Wishes...OF:howdy:

Knowledge

OF...I have been following your posts for quite some time and you are a very knowledgeable guy. I agree with everything you said in your last post.

The Wizards have some of the best 1-on-1 players in the NBA. The problem is, they settle for low percentage/difficult shots. They make the highlights on Sportscenter for acrobatic shots and difficult jumpers. But if they would just make the extra pass, you would see guys like Jeffries and Haywood with open layups and dunks.

Arenas puts up strong stats but is a terrible point guard. He takes terrible shots and settles for perimeter jumpers. He has horrid shot selection and manages the game worse than any point guard in the league. He is an incredible athlete, but not a good point guard.

Hughes and Jamison are also very talented but you will find them settling for 3's and pull up jumpers all game as well.

The Wizards are streaky and if they can have 2 of the big 3 hitting at the same time, they are a tough team. The problem is they need to shoot 50% from the perimeter to be effective and that rarely happens.

The matchups favor Miami even without Shaq. This is a tough matchup for the Wizards and being down 0-3 and nothing left to play for is a terrible spot to be risking any money, let alone half your bankroll. That is a very poor decision in my opinion regardless of the outcome.

Trends are broken, but that doesn't change the matchup problems. Odds are in Miami's favor much more than the line indicates in my opinion.

BB,

I am thinking Washington first half might be a better play. If they get behind in the second half...they might pack it in.

You must have a good paying job to continually launch 1/2 bankroll bets, only 5 months since bank breaking NFL play-off run. Maybe the smell of them newly acquired nappies is confusing your financial worth.

A couple of years ago I saw Charles Barkley talking about teams who were down 0 - 3. Now say what you want about Sir Charles but he has been there, done that. Anyhow, he said a team down 0 - 3 has no incentive to play for. They know they cant win the series and winning game 4 only means they will have to endure another road trip which they would rather not do. He has been right so far again this year and that piece of info has made me a few bucks. Hope it continues. Shaq being out could foul things up but I doubt it.

Teams trailing 0-3 in any round are 5-14 SU and ATS in game 4 since '99.

I wish you the best of luck.

Refs can't bail out guys like Arenas, Hughes, and Jamison when all they do is jack up perimeter shots. Even if the theory were true, this is not a team that can take advantage of the "NBA TV money" theory.
